Where do I park?

Visitor parking is on the corner of Avenue Q and 39th Street (across the street from the lighthouse). There are closer parking lots; however, these require a parking permit.

What are the steps for applying for loans?

First Step – Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please note that you must complete a new FAFSA for each academic year. The academic year begins with the fall semester and ends with the summer semester at Galveston College.

2025-2026: This application is for the 2025-2026 academic year (Fall 2025, Spring & Summer 2026)

Second Step – Complete the Galveston College Loan Entrance Counseling: Borrowers at Galveston College MUST attend an in-person or virtual session.

Third Step – Complete the Entrance Counseling by logging on to StudentAid.gov and selecting “Complete Entrance Counseling” (Choose undergraduate counseling type) under the “Complete Aid Process” tab.

Fourth Step – After completing the Entrance Counseling, sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN) by logging on to StudentAid.gov and selecting “I'm an Undergraduate Student Log In To Start". You are encouraged to download or print a copy of your MPN for your records.

Fifth Step –If you are requesting a Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan for the fall, spring, or summer terms, please submit the Loan Request and Adjustment Form.

Please remember – All steps must be completed before your loan request can be reviewed. The forms, counseling confirmations, and status update requests can take 2-4 business days to process. Any additional inquiries must come from your Galveston College Whitecaps email.
